Friday morning at six o'clock, Mrs. Elizabeth Gulden, nee Schaefer, passed to her reward, at the St. Alexander Home for Aged. She had been an inmate at the home for Aged for two years and eight months and during that time enjoyed good health, although she was at the ripe age of 79 years old when the Grim Reaper claimed her. The deceased was in her usual sturdy condition a week ago last Wednesday when she walked from the hospital to the city. Shortly after she was troubled with a severe cold which developed into bronchitis which was the cause of her demise. Mrs. Gulden was born in Luxembourg, Germany on Sep 19, 1840 and came to this country with her brother some fifty-two years ago. They settled in St. Peter where they spent a year and then came to Cottonwood Twp. While in St. Peter she was married to Nicklaus Gulden. She and her husband conducted the farm which is now being tilled by Gerhard Gulden. The deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. Margaretha Theissen of St. Paul, by two children, Gerhard Gulden of Cottonwood Twp., Rosa Schmelz of St. Cloud and by two step-daughters, Mrs. John Schneider and Mrs. John Reinhart. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock in the Catholic Church after which remains were laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery.
