Obituary Evelyn Bannister Sholts passed away Oct. 6, 2007, in Eden Prairie, Minn. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20,at First Lutheran Church, Bismarck. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her husband, Maynard; and one daughter, Dorothy (Phillip) Mark.

She is survived by one son, Jerry (Jill); one daughter, Donna (Edward) Rust; her grandchildren, CrystalSholts, Sabrina Sholts, Andrea Davis, Brenda Matthies, Susan Rust, Melissa Printz, Shawn Rust, Randy Rust, Alison Zaph and Michelle Krebs; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Evelyn was born in Wolf Point, Mont.,in 1911. After graduating from Wolf Point High School, she traveled to Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota, where she received a bachelor of science degree in medical technology in 1933. She spent several years working as amedical technologist at the North Dakota State University Bacteriology Department and at a medical clinic in Great Falls, Mont. During this period, she traveled extensively throughout the northern states and Canada, and pursued photographyas a hobby. She married Maynard in 1938. After living in Ellendale for severalyears, they moved to Bismarck, where they lived until Maynard's death. She had resided with her son in Eden Prairie since 2001.

She was a longtime memberof the First Lutheran Church, Order of the Eastern Star, American Society of Medical Technologists and American Association of University Women. In her youth,she was an avid ice skater and tennis player. She volunteered her time to many community activities. She was a loving wife and mother, and she will be missed byher family and friends.
