Mrs. Helena D. Niedfeldt
Mrs. Helen Dorothea Niedfeldt 69 years and six months of age of Paxico, Kansas, passed away March1, at the Genn hospital in Wamego after an extended illness. She was born August 27, 1888, in Wabaunsee county near Belvue, the daughter of Gerhard and Augusta Martens.
On October 14, 1888, she was baptized in the Evangelical Church of Wells Creek. On April 13, 1902, she received her confirmation and was a lifelong member of this church.
She was married on June 20, 1907, to Herman C. Niedfeldt who preceded her in death on May 21, 1958. One sister and three grandchildren also preceded her in death.
Survivors are seven children; Emil of Belvue; Raymond of Paxico; Harry of the home; Mrs. Laura Smith of Wamego; Mrs. Edna Stout of Paxico; Mrs. Bernadine songs of Wamego; and Walter of Paxico and sixteen grandchildren. Two brothers, Emil Martens of St,. Marys and Henry Martens of Manhattan. Seven sisters; Mrs. Annie Niedfeldt; Mrs. Clara Reiners, Mrs. Lydia Heine, of Belvue; Mrs. Rosie Reiners and Mrs. Ella Mathies of Paxico; Mrs. Ida Vossloh and Mrs. Martha Casper of Wamego and a host of other relatives and friends. She was always a devoted and loving mother and will be sadly missed by everyone.
Funeral services ere held at 1:45 pm Tuesday at the home and 2:30pm at the Evangelical and Reformed Church of Wells Creek with the Rev. Harold C. Potts officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Marvin Niedfeldt, Emil Pageler, and Wilford Heine of Belvue; Lewis Reiners and Donal Mathies of Paxico; and Wille Martens of Manhattan.
