There is an error on the 1900 census. It lists him as a widower, but he was not. His wife was in the same house. Perhaps they were separated. Camden, Oct. 27 - The funeral of E. Jay Groat will be held privately from his late home on Wolcott Hill at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and burial will be made in the East Florence Cemetery. Mr. Groat, who died yesterday had been ill for some time with heart trouble. He was born 25 years ago in the town of Western. His wife, a nephew and a niece survive.
