Born in Somers, Wis., Aug. 8, 1882, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John J. Swartz. He married Miss Millie Bittorf Dec. 20, 1911 and she died Dec. 25, 1973. Mr. Swartz was employed by American Motors Corp for 35 years, retiring frorn active duties 19 years ago. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and the UAW-CIO Local 72 Retirees Club. ile is survived by two sons, Arthur, Burlington, Earl, Kenosha, one daughter, Mrs. Leon (Esther) Northway, Kenosha, and five grandchildren. Mr. Swartz was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Ed and Charles, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Abresch and Mrs. Carrie Bose.
