David Edward Councilman passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of January 9, 2019 after suffering from the effects of a fall he took back in August. He was 74 years old.

Dave was born on September 30, 1944 in Everett, Washington to Claude Gerald and Marjorie Joyce Bailey Councilman. He was the youngest of three children. When Dave was six years old he sang in front of an audience for the first time with his Dad’s country western band – The Evergreen Valley Boys – and this was the beginning of Dave’s love for music and performing. He received his first record player at the age of 12 and began collecting records as a hobby – especially ones from his favorite singer, Elvis Presley. During his senior year at Everett High School Dave took a drama class and went on to receive the Snohomish County Community Theater Scholarship. He performed in over 40 plays throughout his life.

Dave moved to California at the age of 19 to be close to his sister and her family. Among the many different jobs he had in his early years, a favorite was being the train conductor and train bandit at Knotts Berry Farm. Dave joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on January 19, 1966 after being introduced to the Gospel through theater friends. He married Jimmie Barnett in 1968 and their son, David Arthur, was born in 1970 but, that marriage ended in divorce. Dave then met Pamela Jeanne Hall at a singles ward family home evening activity. After dating for six weeks, Dave and Pamela became engaged and were married on June 4, 1977. They have one daughter, Carrie Anne, born May 16, 1979.

Dave graduated from the school of broadcasting at Fullerton College and opened his own Mobile Discotheque Party Entertainment company called Rolling Disco. He took his collection of records around and DJ’d dances, parties, and weddings. He worked this job until his mental and physical health made it too much for him to continue. In 2009 Pam and Dave moved to Arizona to be closer to family, but his physical health continued to decline. He suffered a fall in August of 2018 and had been dealing with complications from a broken neck, as well as continual bouts of pneumonia and infection since. We feel at peace knowing that he is free from the suffering that has consumed the majority of his life.

David is preceded in death by both his parents; his sister, Claudia Joyce Herrick; his son, David Arthur Councilman; and his wife, Pam. He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Carrie and Tyler Allen; five grandchildren, Abigail (16), Andrew (14), Alexander (14), Benjamin (10), and Tanner (7); one brother, Gary (Diana) Councilman; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the LDS chapel on 8161 South Pohne weitere Einträger Road, Queen Creek, Arizona 85142. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service at 12:00pm. Following the funeral service, the burial will be at the City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 North Center Street, Mesa, Arizona 85201.

The family is overwhelmed and grateful for all the love, prayers, and service that has been shown to them during this time.

Personal History written by David and added onto by his daughter Carrie
My name is David Edward Councilman. I was born on Saturday, September 30, 1944 at 7:47pm at Providence Hospital in Everett, Snohomish County, Washington. I weighed 7lbs 6oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. My father is Claude Gerald Councilman. He was born on November 14, 1909 in Stevens Point, Portage County, Wisconsin. My mother is Marjorie Joyce Bailey. She was born on November 5, 1916 in Hinsdale, DuPage County, Illinois. My parents were married November 19, 1935 in Everett. I have one sister, Claudia Joyce, born on September 25, 1936 in Everett. My dad's father is Frank McKendry Councilman and his mother is Sarah Isabel Prush. She was adopted by Barney Flinn and his wife Eveline A. Kinney. So Sarah's last name was changed to Flinn. My dad has three brothers - George, Albert, and Clarence - and two sisters - Luella and Esther. Clarence committed suicide and Esther was killed in a car accident. Luella married her first husband, Arthur James Olson when she was 14 years old.

When my mom's mother was in her early 20's she began having health problems. After her doctor ran several tests he determined they were caused by the brightness of the sun, and urged her to move to a darker climate. So she and James and my mom and Meredith moved to Everett, Washington. James was a photographer and opened his own studio. Then when my mom's mother was only 46 years old, she was having an operation and contracted a staff infection and passed away on July 7, 1926. My mom was 9 years old when her mother died and she, her father, and Meredith were devastated. Her father decided to hire a housekeeper. She had a daughter named Mildred, who was close to my mom's age. My mom and Mildred became close friends and their friendship lasted over 75 years.

According to the marriage record, Mary Graf's parents are John and Rosa Graf - but research shows her parents as Johann Graf and Theresa Hackel.
My mom's sister Meredith passed away on April 18, 1998 in Seattle, King, Washington. Her husband William Francis Burke died March 22, 1998 in Seattle. His father is Alanzo F. My earliest memory happened when I was six years old. My dad's full time job was as a maintenance man for the Wehrhauser Pulp Mill. But on Friday and Saturday nights he sang and played the guitar in a country western band called the Evergreen Valley Boys. The band practiced at our house. My dad thought I sang pretty well, so he asked me if I wanted to sing with his band sometime and I said sure. So he bought me a cowboy outfit and a small plastic guitar which I pretended to play. Then he taught me a few songs to sing - "Good Night Irene", "Kalijan the Wooden Indian", and "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover". We practiced until my dad thought I was ready. Then one night it happened - I sang in front of an audience for the first time. I performed with the band a few different times. Each time I sang the audience applauded. Then my dad took my cowboy hat off. After it was passed through the audience it came back full of money. I really enjoyed that experience.
Another of my early memories is when my dad bought a home recording machine. This was long before tape recorders were invented. This meant that we as a family could make home recordings. They two I remember are Claudia's 12th birthday party and the naughty boy record (me). Another memory was is when we went to visit my Aunt Lu, my Uncle Harry, and my cousin Robby. They lived on a dairy farm and had quite a few cows which my Uncle Harry milked every day in his barn. When we were in the yard a large dog came up to me. As I bent down to pet it it bit me on the face. It's bottom jaw bit under my chin and its top jaw bit my forehead.
My sister Claudia is 8 years older than meso when I was 11 she got engaged to Chuck McGee who was in the Navy at the time. He was assigned to a naval base in San Diego, California so he and Claudia moved there and were married in a city near the base called Linda Vista. That was in 1955. After Chuck discharged from the navey he and Claudia moved to Bloomington, California, a small city near San Bernadino. That summer my mom and dad and I came down to visit them and my dad fell in love with California. When we got home he decided we would move there and he put our house up for sale. After it sold my dad quit his job and the pulp mill and put our furniture in storage. My dad bought a trailor and hooked it up to the back of our car. After loading our belongins, off we went - my dad, mom, and I. My dad got a job with the Packard Bell Company in Santa Monica. So that's where we lived and I attended Jr. High School there. We went to the beach nd swam in the ocean on weekends. It was fun living there, but unfortunately my dad got laid off, and we returned to Everett. My dad bought our second home at 2229 Oklahoma Avenue. I attended North Jr. High School and my dad went to Barber College and became a barber.
For my 12th birthday I got my first record player and started to collect records. That was my hobby for many years and I really enjoyed it. My favorite singer was Elvis Presley. I also liked Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Freddy Cannon, and Ricky Nelson.
During Jr. High I got interested in bowling and was on a league. I also joined a gym and enjoyed lifting weights. I attended Everett High School. One of my favorite subjects there was French. During my senior year I took a drama class and got interested in acting. My first play was "The Informer" which was performed at school and at the One Act Play Festival in Seattle. Then some members of the class, including me, did a scene from "Inherit the Wind" in which I played the judge. They I had a speaking part in the musical "Babes in Arms". Also I had a part in "Mr. Roberts" at the Snohomish Community Theater. As a teenager, I was very bashful, shy, and self conscious. Performing in front of an audience gave me confidence. Acting was something I not only enjoyed but was fairly good at, which helped me overcome my self consciousness.
After graduation I attended Everett Jr. College for a year and one semester as a theater arts major. My first semester I had a small part in "A View From the Bridge". The second semester I portrayed the hero in a melodrama called "Love Rides the Rails - OR - Will the Mail Train Run Tonight?" It was a lot of fun. During intermission there was a sing-a-long which involved the audience. Then when the second year began, the first semester my drama teacher Mr. Devin asked me to be the assistant director on a Greek tragedy called "Antigone". I also portrayed the messenger in the last scene. I also acted in another play at the community theater called "You Can't Take it With You". I also served as the lighting techniciah on two other plays there.
In Jnauary of 1964 when I was nineteen years old I moved to Bloomington, California just a few blocks from Claudia and Chuck and their four kids - Mark, Kevin, Margie, and Michael. I worked at a company that manufactured trailer doors during the day, and at a drive in dairy at night. Later I worked for the Seven-Up bottling company in the plant. I acted in several plays at the Centre Theatre; among them were "The Rainmaker" and "My Three Angels". The man who ran the theatre, and directed most of the plays, was Jay Wheeler. He and his wife Chari were members of the "Mormon Church". They taught me a little about the church. The first thing I learned was that the correct name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After taking the missionary disussions I was baptized and confirmed a member of the church on Januaru 19, 1966 in the San Bernadino 3rd ward of the San Bernadino California Stake.
About 6 months after my baptism I moved to Anaheim. My first job there was as a bus boy at a restaraunt, then as a waiter. Then I worked at the Broadway Department Store in the stockroom. Then I worked two jobs. During the day I delievered auto parts and at night I worked at the Sears Automotive Center in the parts department as a behind the counter salesman. It was then that I met Jimmie Barnett. We got married in November of 1968 in a courthouse in Las Vegas, Nevada. in March of 1970 our son David was born. I was waiting outside the delivery room and a nurse brought him out so I could see him. He looked up at me. That was special.
I attended Fullerton Jr. College and recieved my associate of arts degree in 1975. I was in a play there called "The Merry Wives of Windsor."
In 1972 I was priveleged to portray the prophet Joseph Smith in a musical put on by the Anaheim Stake called "You're No Stranger." I became bood friends with the music director Preston Woolf and his wife Glenna. Glenna got me interested in geneology and submitted my mom's parent's names to the Los Angeles temple for ordinance work. I also recieved my partriarchal blessing and Preston ordained me to the office of a priest. I tried to get Jimmie interested in the church, and she took the missionary lessons, but she decided not to join. She and I got a divorce, but I could still come to see Davy whenever I wanted to.
I performed in seven musical for the Fullerton Civic Light Opera - "1776", "Kismet", "Oliver", "Camelot", "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Fiddler on the Roof", and "Lil Abner".
In May of 1975 I went to work at Knott's Berry Farm - the amusement park in Buena Park. They just had the grand opening of the roaring twenties area - including a parade. They had all new rides including the bumper cars and the parachute ride. They theater in the area was renamed. It was no longer the John Wayne Theater. It was now The Good Time Theater and I worked there as an usher. During the summer months of lof of famous singers and groups performed there while I was an usher. Captain and Tenille, Pat Boone and his family, Rick Nelson, Frankie Avalon, B.J. Thomas, Johnny Rivers, The Lennon Sisters, and The Lettermen. I was also in charge of changing the marquees when they needed to be changed. My next job there was a stockroom clerk in the entertainment stockroom. Then I was transferred outside the park at the dried fruit warehouse. After a couple of months I was transferred into the park to work on the train as a train bandit. Next I worked as a conductor.
On December 2, 1976 a friend introduced me to a wonderful girl, Pamela Jeanne Hall. I saw her again a week or so later at a dance held at church for singles ages 26-40. After we danced for a few times we went to a restaraunt and ate ice cream and talked. She said she was driving home to Mesa, Arizona to spend Christmas at her parents' house. I asked her if I could call her on Christmas and she said yes. I went to Claudia and Chuck's for Christmas and called her from there. After Pam got home we started dating. We enjoyed going to the movies and going out to eat. I really enjoyed being with her. On January 13, 1977 - just six weeks after we met - I told Pam that I think I want to marry you. She said she though the same way. So we were engaged and decided to get married June 4, 1977 by her dad who was a Bishop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is where my dad's personal history ends. I, Carrie Allen - Dave's daughter, will add on to it from here … including words given at his funeral on January 19, 2019
Dave and Pam were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on July 21, 1979. I was 3 months old at the time. After graduating from the Columbia School of Broadcasting Dave got a job as a mobile disc jockey, which he did for nine years, eventually owning the business Rolling Disco. He provided music for wedding receptions, singles dances, and high school reunions. A friend, Geno Kaneshiro, remembers that "Dave had a clear deep voice. Early in Pam and Dave’s marriage, Dave had a stint at a local radio station as a DJ. When Pam found out that he was going to be on the air for an hour, she was so thrilled, she asked her principal if she could have the radio in her class for her students to listen to him. Dave's program was aired throughout Orange County and LA County area. Since it was during the day, many of the ward members could not listen to it. Hohne weitere Einträgever, Dave was a DJ at one of the ward activities. He was very good and many ward members thought that they had a professional DJ come at the ward dance."
Titel Tailfinger Familien, mit Schwerpunkt Conzelmann
Beschreibung
- Update vom 29.April 2024
die Familien von Tailfingen auf der Schwäbischen Alb -
ab 1640 bis 1896 u. tw. bis ins 20. Jh.
                   -  mit integrierter "Conzelmann Familie" - ab 1540 bis ins 20. Jh -
Am Anfang wollte ich lediglich das Familienbuch  Die Sippe Conzelmann“ digitalisieren.
Schnell stellte es sich aber heraus, dass es sehr interessant ist, über den „Buchrand“ hinauszuschauen und die weiteren Entwicklungen der in die verschiedensten Teile der Welt ausgewanderten „Conzelmänner/frauen“ zu erforschen. Diese leben im Schwerpunkt zwar immer noch im süddeutschen Raum, sind aber zwischenzeitlich in ganz Deutschland, USA, Kanada, Polen, Ukraine, Rumänien (Bukowina/Galizien), Schweiz, Frankreich, Australien und Süd-Amerika angesiedelt.
Daneben versuche ich auch weitere verwandte Namen-Vorkommen in Süd-Deutschland, Baden, Elsass und an der Mosel zu erforschen um evtl. Verbindungen zu finden
------------------
Mit einer solchen Chronik wollte ich eine möglichst zusammenhängende, möglichst umfassende, räumlich nicht begrenzte Datenbank erschaffen, und zwar aller "Conzelmann" Linien inclusive der im Laufe der Jahrhunderte entstandenen Namensänderungen wie
  •    Kuntzelmann, Kontzelmann, Contzelmann, Konzelmann, Kunzelmann u.a.
  •     in USA - Conzelman, Konzelman, Kunzelman, Councilman, Concelman u.a
Es ist natürlich klar, dass diese Chronik aufgrund der starken Verzweigung und enormen räumlichen Ausbreitung der Familie nie vollständig sein kann.
Quellen:  ein erheblicher Teil der Basis-Daten sind dem Buch " Die Sippe Conzelmann" entnommen (Kennzeichnung = CB ) mittlerweile mit vielen Verifizierungen sowie Ergänzungen und Korrekturen anhand der verfilmten Original-Dokumente, Kopien von Kirchenbüchern, Erbteilungen usw.
Durch die ursprünglich nicht geplante   Ausweitung der Datenbank zu verschwägerten Familien   hat sich das Ganze etwas verselbständigt und mittlerweile arbeite ich an einer kompletten Erfassung der Familien -Register Tailfingen. Also, vom Ur-Fam.Reg. ab 1640 bis zu Band 19/III = Heiraten bis 1896. Aber auch neuere, mir vorliegende Register aus dem 20 Jh. sind/werden tw. integriert.
Derzeitiger Erfassungsstand: UrFR + Bd. I komplett, Bd.II zu 90%, Teile des Bd.III + weiterf. FR sind punktuell ausgewertet.
                Sukzessive entsteht damit ein OFB Tailfingen
                                         --------------------
Bei einzelnen Familien-Linien sind allerdings auch private Interessen berücksichtigt, so dass diese auch in andere regionale Gebiete hineinreichen. Manchmal sind auch andere Familienzweige ebenfalls über Generationen zurückverfolgt in umliegende Orte wie Truchtelfingen, Ebingen, Bitz, Onstmettingen, Pfeffingen u.a., weil durch die räumliche Nähe natürlich enge familiäre Verflechtungen nicht ausbleiben.
Hinweis zum CB und auch den nachträglich erstellten Ur-Fam.Reg. Tailfingen: es ist vollkommen klar, dass auch den Verfassern dieses Buches/bzw. des Ur-Fam.Reg. Tippfehler, Zahlendreher, Datumsfehler aber auch Zuordnungsfehler bei Personen passiert sind. Bei der Menge an gleichnamigen Personen kann das leicht geschehen.
Neue, intensive, gezielte Analysen der Kirchenbücher haben deshalb in Einzelfällen zu familiären Verschiebungen gegenüber dem CB, aber auch Ur-Fam.Reg.  geführt. Diese Änderungen habe ich aber in dieser DB bei der jeweiligen Person möglichst klar unter Bezug auf das CB o. Ur-Fam.Reg. dokumentiert. Auch bei reinen Datenänderungen ist in den Notizen meistens ein Hinweis.
ein Kürzel nach den Nachnamen dient der schnelleren Navigation:
  •   ° nach dem Fam. Namen bedeutet    - als Kind o. jung gestorben (bis ca. 20 J.) nicht verheiratet- ohne Nachkommen;
·         aber bitte beachten:  dadurch wird der Familienname "quasi" verändert und deshalb in den GEDBAS Suchlisten anders, meistens am Schluss, einsortiert. In den Personen-Blättern sowie Vorfahren/Nachkommen-Übersichten stimmt natürlich die Zuordnung.
  •     CB = Verweis auf Buch "Die Sippe Conzelmann"
  •     Familien Namen sind oft vereinheitlicht, wie "Bizer =Bitzer", "Mertz =Merz", "Mauthe, Mauthin =Maute", u.a.
  •     manchmal sind die urspr. Namen als Variante hinterlegt. Aber die Schreibweisen in den Quellen wechseln oft sehr willkürlich.
-  Bei dieser Menge an manuell erfassten Daten können Fehler, auch Verwechslungen, nicht ausbleiben.
-  Deshalb würde es mich wirklich sehr freuen, wenn Sie mir weiterführende Daten oder Korrekturen /Ergänzungen mitteilen, damit ich meine Datei aktualisieren, vervollständigen bzw. korrigieren kann.
-  Speziell neue Infos bzw. weiterführende Daten zu Personen die Ende des 19. Jh. (ca. nach 1890), bzw. im 20. oder sogar im 21 Jh. geboren wurden wären interessant, da die Daten dieser Personen kaum zugänglich sind.
-  Sofern es sich allerdings um noch lebende Personen handelt, würden diese Angaben natürlich aus Datenschutzgründen nicht veröffentlicht.
-  Ich bin, im Rahmen meiner Möglichkeiten, auch gerne bereit Auskünfte zu Quellen, Personen und Zusammenhängen zu geben. Allerdings ist fast mein gesamtes Wissen zu Personen hier bereits detailliert veröffentlicht.
