He was the son of the late Paul E. and Rosina “Peggy” (Gould) Cairl. He married Virginia Hartman on March 19, 1948 and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Deborah (Ricardo) Lucio of Findlay; sister, Crystal Mata of Tecumseh, Mi.; grandson, Jeremy (Robin Powers) Cairl; great grandchild, Ellis Powers Cairl. Preceding him in death was a son, David Cairl. Paul who was an ordained United Brethren Minster, was a teacher at Springfield High School in the 1950’s and went on to be a college administrator serving as a college Treasurer and then as a Vice President of Business Affairs at several colleges and universities including, Huntington College, Frostburg State College, Iowa Wesleyan College, Findlay College, Allen Community College, and retired in 1992 from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. Paul was a member of the Lions Club for over 40 years and was a past District Governor and President of the Findlay Lions Club in 1998. Funeral Services were held on Thursday January 7, 2016 at the funeral home, the Rev. David Welker, officiating. Burial was in the Springfield Township Cemetery, Holland, Ohio.
