She was born in Johnstown, PA on 14 May 1923, where she was raised as the youngest of six siblings. During the Korean War she served in the United States Navy where she met her future husband, Ralph, while he was a Navy medical officer in New Orleans, LA. The tall, lanky Ralph Mollelrstuen fell head over heels for the diminutive Ardelle Miller and throughout his life affectionately referred to her as Tiny jut as she called him Stretch (both might forces in each others' lives). Ardelle was an ardent supporter of Dr. Mollerstuen as he progressed through his initial practice in Weeks, LA and residency in Bakersfield, CA before they relocated to Northridge, CA, where he practiced medicine for 30 years and she worked in the library at California State University Northridge. In 1985 the Mollerstuens moved to Ridgecrest, where they enjoyed retirement until his passing in 1995. Mrs. Mollerstuen's commitment to others was reflected in her service to Grace Lutheran Church in the office, on the Altar Guild and most especially her love of the Chancel Choir. She worked as a steadfast volunteer for the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of the Ridgecrest Community (now Regional) Hospital, greeting visitors to the gift shop every Thursday afternoon. Ardelle will be remembered for her kindness and caring of others, and her friends will always remember her as the cookie baker extraordinaire! She is survived by some 20 nieces and nephews.
