Notes for this person
Funeral services were held on August 16th for Dick Fiddelke, Paullina,who had died the previous Sunday morning at the Methodist hospital in Sioux City. Services were held at 2 o'clock at the Zion Lutheran Churchwith the interment in the Germantown Cemetery. The Rev. Martin Peters officiated. Pallbearers were Albert, Hugo, Walter and Henry Fiddelke andLorenz, and Leslie Kruse. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Meyer and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Herzberg were in charge of flower arrangements. Dick Fiddelke, the son to John and Margareta Fiddelke, was born Sept. 18, 1877, in Loge,Hanover, Germany. At the age of 6, he came to this country. On June 22, 1904, he was married to Emma Kruse at Pine City, Minnesota. To them were born four a sons and five daughters. For about five years he followed the carpenter trade and then farmed various places in this vicinityuntil their retirement four years ago when they move to Paullina. Mr. Fiddelke had been poor health for some time, becoming critically ill about two weeks before his death. He was 72 years, 10 months and 26 days of age. Surviving him for his widow; four sons, Herman, and Ray of Paullina; Edwin of Brett and Clarence of Long Beach; five daughters, Mrs. Otto Clausen of Columbus, Nebraska Mrs. Hilda Warnke, Mrs. Vernelle Riedmann and Mrs. Russell Henderson of Paullina and Mrs. Delbert Jorgensen,Calumet. Also 11 grandchildren and three brothers Fred of Paullina; Herman of Riverdale, Nebraska, and Henry of Kearny, Nebraska. Those from out of town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Fiddelke,Harold Fiddelke, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jacobsen all of Riverdale, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kruse, and Mr. Mrs. Leroy Baumgarn, Mr. Mrs.Ray Mund and Ernest Gehrls, all of Okabena, Minnesota, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kruse and Mrs. Dora Meyer of Springfield, Minnesota Mr. Mrs. Ed Kruseand Mr. Mrs. Johnny Kruse of Wadena, Minnesota Mr. Mrs. Henry Gugusburg and Mr. Mrs. George Kruse of Sanborn, Minnesota Mr. Mrs. Anna Geske of Wabasso, Minnesota Mrs. Dora Clausen, Henry Clausen and Mrs. Warner Mueller of Columbus, Nebraska Mrs. Edna Wacker of Laurel, Nebraska and Mr. Mrs. Walter Meyer of Mallard, Iowa Mrs. Ernest Kruse of Edgewater, Colorado.
