On the 20 Apr 1890, he wed Eleanora Christina Dorathea Meyer, who was the daughter of German immigrants, Carsten Heinrich Friedrich Meyer & Anna Dorothea (Ritz) Meyer.
Henry & "Nellie" had three children: a son, who died in infancy; Carl,who died in 1919 in Lemans, France, during WWI; and Anna Christine, whonever married and stayed on the family farm until entering a nursing home in 1984.
