Item from the Past, Mauston Star--- Sept 23, 1869.

Another horrible murder has startled our community. Mr. R. H.

Davis, long aresident of Wisconsin and presently engaged as the miller

at Lemonweir, was according to an inquest conducted by Moses BOYDEN,

found to be robbed and murdered at Lemonweir Station on the evening of

September 22, 1869. The person or persons who have committed this foul

deed are unknown.
