Notizen zu dieser Person

His only son, Georg Wolfgang (1683-1743) had lived in Altdorf, Strasburg, and studied law in Jena and on the December 4, 1713 married Katharina Rosina de Venne, the widow of the merchant Johann Bernhard Mayer (died1707). After receiving his doctorate at Jena in 1715, he was living in Nürnberg in 1717 and worked as a lawyer. Although Wolfgang Georg gave a sign in the explosive dispute were several tasks of consideration in the award of senior offices he was refused work. However, in February 1729 when the Council to the Emperor Charles VI because of the co-operation of six families' (including the Gugel) approached him, Georg Wolfgang Schürstab sent a petition to the head of the empire, which finally led to the desired success. On April 1729 in Nürnberg, a letter arrived from Vienna, with which the Council was reminded of the Imperial Patrician declaration of 1701 moreover, it imposed on the governing gentlemen, to give Schürstab an adequate office in council. Fully correct the Council insisted on its right of free council elections, but had to bow to the Imperial decree and the keepers of the city appointed Schürstab as the charity official. An admission into the smaller Council was however denied him because of his doctorate, a priori refused to him, because since the 15 Century anyone who attained a doctorate was categorically excluded from the city nobility. For the Nürnberg Council the explosive affair ended surprisingly happy and on 3 July 1743, Georg Wolfgang Schürstab was as the last of his name and lineage without male descendants he died.
