In the year of Christ 1812, on February 23rd, was as per local ............ and after three public proclamations Johann Christian Knabenschuh was married and blessed to Maria Catharina, the widow of Georg Rossbach a master stocking weaver.

Johann Christian Knabenschuh, local burger and masterlong sock weaver, is the legal son of the local burger and master stocking weaver Christian Knabenschuh and his wife Maria Christina Lichtenfels. From their children he was the fifth ;and the forthson of the five. He is 27 years old.

The bride is the daughter of Johannes Boerner, local citizen and shoemaker and his wife Anna Catharina, nee Ruebstein from ...bach. Of the seven children she is the third ; and is the second daughter of three. She is 38 years old.

The present protocol and the wedding ceremony was witnessed and signed by myself, the pastor and Wilhelm Lippert, local master shoemaker, and Johannes Knabenschuh, the brother of the groom.

Marriage 1812 February 23rd. of Johann Christian Knabenschuh [II] the 27 year old son [and the fifth child and fourth of five sons] of Christian Knabenschuh, Strumpfwebermeister and Maria Christina Lichtenfels ; and the bride Maria Catharina Rossbach, who is the 38 year old widow of Georg Rossbach Strumpfwebermeister, and is the daughter of Johannes Berner, Bürger and master shoemaker, and Anna Catharina Ruebstein from----bach. She is the third child of seven and the second daughter of three.

Signatures Johannes Knabenschuh the brother of the groom, and Wilhelm Lippert a local master shoemaker.

Family A detailed search of the birth records over the period gave no birth events for Christian & Maria Catharina - so assume they had no children. Note also her age.

Comments Translated by RTS. This is the Christian [II] b1785. and who died 1814 May 28th.

Brief History :

Per 1811-1812 Musterlisten he was a Strumpfweber, and had only one eye.

1815 Widow of Christian Kn. paid Taxes of 1 gulden, 1 albion, 1 kreutzer. Per "Stadtrechnung" records.

Death 1814 May 28th. of Christian Knabenschuh [II], burger and strumpfwebermeister, aged

29 years 3 months.

"In the year of Christ 1814, on the 28th. of May, died of ----- nervous fever at the age of 29 years and 3 months, Christian Knabenschuh, the local burger andmaster stocking weaver, who was buried quietly at 7 a.m.

This protocol was signed by my own hand the first City Pastor and who held the required address, and in my presence immediately after the buriel as witnesses, by Friedrich Conrad Knabenschuh, local burger and hose manufacturer, the brother of the deceased,and by Johannes Berner, the local burger and master shoemaker, the widow's brother."
