Notizen zu dieser Person

Emil was born illegitimately five years after the death of his mother's husband, but had the name Foth. He came to the US with his mother aboard the Herder (Hapag line), departing from Hamburg and Havre and landing in NewYork 5 July 1882. He lived with his mother at the residence of his brother-in-law Benjamin Schwartz, in Leon, Monroe County in 1885, and they moved to Valley County (Ord) Nebraska in 1890, where he lived the rest of his life. Helived about two miles west of North Loup a short time, then moved to Mira Valley, farming 640 acres in the southeast quarter of section 33, half of section 34, and the southeast quarter of section 27 in Enterprise Township. He wasnaturalized in 1913. Besides being a successful farmer and raising his own family, he made a home for his mother (Anna Zabel Foth) and acted as a guardian for his nephew, Max Foth, for a number of years. He was fond of animalsand mules were his hobby. Having three sons, he didn't learn how to drive a car until he was 54 years old. In February 1925, he and Wilhelmine moved to a new home where later Lyle Foth also lived. Emil died of cancer of thestomach. He was buried in the Mira Valley cemetery and was removed to Ord Cemetery on 28 November 1951.

Taufpaten: Eins. Jacob Sommerfeld u. Fr. Anna.

Some sources give his name as Emil Reinhardt. CEN1900 says he came to the US in 1883.
