I inform you on behalf ofyour dear mother, that your dear father is heavily ill. One doesn`t know whetherhe survives, that yet, but it looks very bad. You only shall not tell it to Therese yet. Since she is very sensitive. Now the best greetings for you both of all. Your Auguste. Of the other also best greetings.

My dears!
We have received your kind letter at the best health. We have been very pleased about it! However, why are you in hurry to send us money quickly. This wasn`t meant. We like to pay the book one more year. We owe this to you. Hinni is betroths now? We congratulate the bride and bridegroom to this! We also want to inform you that the Mr Schwarting here issince January 15 th again. Or do you already know this? If he comes to us again,we don`t know. He came with a Danish steamship, he has told us. We can tell youmuch new yet: Mrs Siemer is already married a couple of months. And Lisbeth Schumacher is betroths. Her fiancé is busy at the gasworks in Hamburg. Berta Eversalso is betroths. Ludwig Wiechmann and Herrmann also have married both. You willcopy the two soon now Hinni? How is Therese? You hopefully are well again, youwere so ill in September. We heard this of Mrs Schwarting. Therefore we wish youall the best. Dear Mrs Dittmer, on the February 14th on Friday we were on the cemetery and have your dear father given a beautiful wreath. We had ordered a kind greeting from you. We had planted also new flowers on the grave in summer. Wehave always cared for the grave beautifully and watered the flowers. And many thanks for the wonderful picture yet,Mrs Dittmer. We have shown it to Mrs Stickstaff and Mrs Schumacher. All have been surprised that they look so good: typicala American. We also have shown the money mailman the picture. He also has beensurprised at your good appearance. I am saying goodbye now with the warmest regards and the best welfare of your old friends from the native country.
