Potthast, neeBellm, 81, of Highland, Ill., born May 29, 1923, in Highland, Ill.,died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, Ill. Blanche graduated from St. Paul High School in 1941. She had worked atMolten Bartley Shoe Factory, Highland, Ill., until she married herhusband, Clarence H. Potthast Sr. of Highland, Ill. They lived on thefamily farm for 52 years and then moved to Highland in 1995. She was adevoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was amember of St. Mary's Altar Society and church choir at ImmaculateConception Church in Pierron and the Highland-Pierron Fireman LadiesAuxiliary. She was a driver for Meals on Wheels and a member of thePerpetual Adoration at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland. She alsoenjoyed being a part-time employee at the Shopper's Review in Highlandand loved spending time with her grandchildren, cooking for herfamily, and playing card games and Bunko. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph O. "Seph" and RoseC., nee Sudholt, Bellm; two brothers, Clinton P. "Mick" Bellm andValentine H. "Valley" Bellm; and a sister, Estelle L. Bellm. Surviving are her husband, Clarence H. Potthast Sr.; three daughters,Patricia L. (Willie) Frey of Highland, Ill., Kathleen E. (Neal)Quitmeyer of Highland, Ill., and Diane M. (Gary)Bargetzi of Highland,Ill.; four sons, Clarence "J.R." (Marcia) Potthast of Highland, Ill.,Allen L. (Kathy) Potthast of Pocahontas, Ill., Roger J. (Sharon)Potthast of Pocahontas, Ill., and Robert M. (Nyle) Potthast of CrystalLake, Ill.; two sisters, Zitha (Edmund) Rensing of St. Louis, Mo. andJanet (Clarence "Civ") Orschell of Trenton, Ill.; 20 grandchildren,Gayle Allen Frey, Tricia (Brad) Rembisz, Mindy (Steve) Fenton, KevinQuitmeyer, Abbey Quitmeyer, Breanne Potthast, Brooke Potthast, AlyssaPotthast, Kara Potthast, Kyle Potthast, Luke Potthast, KristinPotthast, Tessa Potthast, Allyn "Ali" Potthast, Kathryn "Katie"Potthast, Samuel Potthast, Brendan Bargetzi, Moran Bargetzi, AmandaPotthast and Spencer Potthast; two step-grandchildren, Bria (Ron)Veitel and Jamie Jo Mitchell; four great-grandchildren, Lauren Fenton,Ashlyn Fenton, Madison Blanche Fenton and Hayden Quitmeyer; onestep-great-grandchild, Erin Fenton; and three godchildren, Julie, neeBellm, DeBourge, Bruce Bellm and Donna, nee Heggar, Strange. Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14,2005, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2005, atSpengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, Ill. Funeral: Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2005,at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Pierron, Ill., withMonsignor Paul W. Sheridan officiating. Burial will be in CalvaryCemetery, Pierron, Ill.
