Anne Louise (Peine) Brochman of Hastings died peacefully at her home May 27, 2007, surrounded by her family and friends, after a two-year fight with ovarian cancer. She was 60.
She was born Nov. 8, 1946, in Red Wing, the daughter of Nicholas and Marion (Miller) Peine. She was a 1964 graduate of Hastings High School.
She was employed at several places, including the Hastings Star Gazette, Graphic Design (graphic designer for 22 years), the State of Minnesota license exam station in Eagan, and part time at The Trophy House.
She married Norbert N. Brochman Oct. 22, 1966, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Hastings.
From Vermillion to her lake cabin in Faribault, to her winter home in Texas, every community Anne touched, fell in love with her, according to her family.
She is survived by her husband, Norbert; son Nick (Jane Thurmes) of Hastings; daughter Michelle “Shelly” (Michael) Banks of Prescott, Wis.; two grandchildren, Rylie and Kyle Banks; her mother, Marion Peine of Hastings; siblings, Carol (Lynn Gallup) Raleigh of Edina, Linda (Phill) Gill of Inver Grove Heights, Mark Peine of White Bear Lake, Margaret (Lee) Stocking of St. Paul, Paul (Michelle) Peine of St. Paul, and Maureen Peine of San Francisco, Calif. She was preceded in death by her father, Nicholas “Nic” Peine.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Vermilion, with father Joseph Arackal officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery, Vermillion.
The pallbearers will be Robert Larson, Doug Noreen, Tom Siebenaler, Jim Peine, Wayne Lorentz, Kevin Brochman, John Hubley, Katie Stocking, Meredith Stocking, Emily Gill, Jack Raleigh and Bill Peine. The honorary pallbearers will be all of her many friends.
The Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, Hastings, is in charge of the arrangements.
