As Edmund's widow, Martha was granted land in Boston for a house and garden 23 Jan 1636/1637. On 19 Feb 1637/1638 she was granted "for fyve heads," a tract of land at Mount Wollaston for a farm. On 3 Feb 1638/1639 she was admitted to First Church, Boston. On 26 Jan 1662/1663 the widow Beamsley applied for a license for "stilling strong watters, and retailing of the same, considering it hath ben a former imploym't of her family releafe," and the license was granted 12 Jun 1663. She died before 16 Nov 1668, when Edward Bushnell and all his sisters and step-sisters, with their husbands, sold the Boston homestead to Key Alsop. The Boston homestead was located opposite the landing docks where the ships from overseas unloaded, adjoining the property of Edward Page. All the children signed the deed of sale, except Edward Bushnell, Thomas Dennis (the then husband of Mary Robinson), and Mary and Andrew Peters, who had earlier sold their share of the property to their brother-in-law Samuel Graves.
