1. Friday, Feb 28, 1890 Horrible Crimes - Blood Flowed Free in Old Telfair John Dowdy, "A Blind Tiger" friend, kills Zibe Studstill On last Saturday night about 9 O'clock, John Dowdy, who runs a "BlindTiger" at Milan, at the junction of the S.A. & M. with the O. R. & N.railroad, shot and instantly killed Zibe Studstill, son of Mr. TroupStudstill. Dowdy was cut with a knife in a fracas about a week since, and hearingthat Studstill did it, called him out and asked him about it. The latterdenied it, whereupon Dowdy emptied every chamber of his revolver intoStudstill's body, and not satisfied with his brutal work, cut the throatof the already murdered man.
