Details: Betty L. Swartz 1929 -- 2008 Betty L. Swartz, 78, a resident of Kenosha, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at United Hospital Systems-Kenosha Medical Center Campus. Betty was born on Nov. 5, 1929, to Ernst and Minna (Strunk) Becker in Kenosha. She was educated in Kenosha schools, and is a graduate of Kenosha Vocational School as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). On Feb. 14, 1953, she married Earl Swartz at Immanuel Methodist Church in Kenosha. She was employed at Kenosha Memorial Hospital for many years and retired in the 1980's. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and active With the United Methodist Women group. Some of Betty's enjoy-crafting, ments were sewing, knitting, needle work, and bird watching with her husband in their backyard. She enjoyed all things German, especially music and food. She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Suzanne) Swartz of Stauffenberg, Germany, and Todd Swartz of Kenosha; a daughter, Lin (Norm) Swartz-Truesdell; a granddaughter, Alicia Cook and a great-grandson, Justin Cook; and a brother, Kenneth Becker of Cable, Wis. She is preceded in death by her husband on June 5, 2008; her parents; and one brother, Carl Becker. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church Chapel (919 60th St. please enter at the 10th Ave. door). Visitation will be held at the Chapel from 1() a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memo»rials to First United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
