Obituary - Norma Helgenberger
  Norma L. Helgenberger, 70, of Fremont, formerly of the Scribner area, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at A.J.Merrick Manor in Fremont.
   She was born Sept. 27, 1931, in rural Scribner. She lived most of her life around the Scribner area. She graduated from Scribner High School in 1948 and was class valedictorian. She was a homemaker.
   She married Delwyn Helgenberger Dec. 18, 1949, north of Hooper. Her spouse preceded her in death July 8, 1983. She moved to Fremont in 1988. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fremont.         She was also a member of Hope Circle at First Lutheran Church. She was a former member and church organist at St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church southwest of Scribner for many years.
   Survivors include: two sons, David Helgenberger of Omaha and Stephen Helgenbergerof Scribner; a sister, Nadine (Mrs. Russell) Johnson of Scribner; and six grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sons, a grandson and her stepfather.
   The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Revs. AnjanetteRist and Norman L. Freund will officiate. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Scribner Cemetery.

Norma L. Helgenberger, 70, of Fremont, formerly of the Scribner area, passed away Wednesday, Jun 12, 2002, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. She lived most of her life around the Scribner area.

Norma was born September 27, 1931, in rural Scribner to Oswale and Pernella “Nellie” (Nelson) Suhr. She graduated from Scribner High School in 1948 and was class Valedictorian. She wa a homemaker. She came to Fremont in 1988.

Norma was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fremont. She was a member of Hope Circle at First Lutheran Church. She was a former member and church organist at St. John’s Ridgeley Lutheran Church S.W. of Scribner for many years.

On Dec 18, 1949, she married Delwyn Helgenberger at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Hooper. Delwyn died Jul 8, 1983.

Survivors include two sons, David Helgenberger of Omaha and Stephen Helgenberger of Scribner; a sister, Nadine (Mrs. Russel) Johnson of Scribner; and six grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Oswald and Pernella Suhr Clouse; husband; two sons, Mark and Anthony Helgenberger; a grandson, Mark Helgenberger; and stepfather, Clarence Clouse.

Funeral services were held Jun 15 at First Lutheran Church in Fremont with Revs. Anjanette Rist and Norman I. Freund officiating. Burial was in Scribner Cemetery in Scribner.

Honorary pallbearers were Russel Johnson, Don Happel, Bob and Glenn Otteman, Lanny Hoogner, and Glenn Gnuse. Pallbearers were Brett, Anthony, Chase and Paul Helgenberger, Dale Berrell, and Jason Cain.

Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Suhr’s daughter received the names Norma Lee in the Sacrament of Baptism last Sunday also; Mrs. Gesina Suhr and Mrs. Lund acted as sponsors.
