Josephine S. Failer Scholarships at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Several scholarships of varying amounts are available each year to students in the College of Pharmacy. Each year The Ohio State University awards the Josephine Sitterle Failer Award for exemplary volunteer service to students. The fountain plaza outside Rhodes Hall , 450 W 10th Ave., at The Ohio State University Hospitals is named for Josephine and Jay Failer. The Failer Lounge at the Ohio Union on The Ohio State University campus is named for Josephine Failer. During the homecoming football game in 1977 the band saluted her by allowing her to dot the "i" for the Script Ohio Formation. Distinguished service award OSU Alumnae Council Woman of Achievement Award, Honorary midshipman with the rank of captin in the university's Naval ROTC Battalion 1885 became the second recipient of the university's Reese Medal, given to recognize individuals for exceptional service to Ohio State in priveete philanthropy. Co founder of the Greater Columbus Antique Show in 1950. She donated her share of the proceeds to Ohio State every year. Ohio State University Alumni Association served on Board of Directors, Executive Board, Alumni Advisory Council and other committees. Served on the University Centennial Committee; Trustee University Hospitals; Friends Of WOSU: she served as a founding board member, treasurer and more. Friends of the Library. 1970 received the first Distinguished Pharmacy Award offered by the College of Pharmacy Charter member of The Presidents Club Member of the Presidents Council Many other awards

Lived in Columbus and was active in raising funds for Ohio State University. Received Distinguished Service Award from the Bd of Trustees in 1964. Also received the Alumnae Council's Woman of Achievement Award. Scholarship for pharmacy students named after her. Collected and was very knowledgeable about antiques. In 1957 she started the Greater Columbus Antique Show and Sale, with profits going to the Ohio State Development Fund. Last residence: 230 - 15th Ave., Columbus, OH.
