David was born on August 4, 1908 at 2105 View Road, in Cleveland, Ohio,

son of Fred Postier and Hedwig Zornow. Fred was 22 years old, and Hedwig

was 20 years old. The midwife was Mrs. C. Albecht who resided at 2601

Clark Avenue.

David married Mary Lucille Basista on 5/9/1931 in Cleveland, Ohio. Mary

Lucille Basista was born in Rzeszow Poland on 12/13/1912 and died on

1/22/1990 in Canoga Park, CA. Marriage record showed that David was 22

years old, living at 3024 Walton Ave., born Cleveland, a waiter, son of

Fred Postier and Hattie Zornow. Mary was 18 years old, living at 2809

Tate Ave., born Austria, a egg candler, daughter of Albert Basista and

Antonina. Neither party were previously married. Reverend S.J. Kremer

presiding. David was of German heritage and Mary of Polish heritage. The

marriage of David and Mary did not have the blessing of their parents.

David's parents disowned him because he married outside the German

nationality, and Mary's parents disowned her for marrying outside the

Catholic religion. This was the old European way in the early years.

After their marriage, David and Mary resided at 2801 Roanoke Avenue.

David and Mary had 3 children:

Marion (3/3/1932)

David Allan Jr. (2/27/1933) born at St. John's Hospital. Given the

baptismal name of Allan at a later date.

Norman Joseph (4/18/1934) born after David died, at Cleveland City

Hospital

On November 30, 1933, David became too ill to work. He was admitted to

Cleveland City Hospital on Feb. 8, 1934. He was attended by Dr. J.K.

Sullivan. In spite of all that was done for him, he did not respond to

treatment. On February 21, 1934 at 12:30 a.m., at the age of 25, David

died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) and Bronchopneumonia. An autopsy was

performed to confirm the diagnosis. He was buried on February 24, 1934

at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland, at the young age of 25 years, 6 months,

17 days. He is buried in Section 59, Range 35, Grave 1501.

His obituary stated: David Postier, husband of Mary, father of David and

Marion. Age 25, 2810 Roanoke. Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.

Death certificate shows: David Postier died on February 21, 1934 at City

Hospital. His residence was 2810 Roanoke Ave. He was married to Mary

Postier and was born August 4, 1908 in Cleveland, Ohio to Fred Postier

and Hattie Zornow, both born in Cleveland. He was a waiter in a

restaurant. He died of pulmonary tuberculosis and pneumonia. He was

buried at Calvary Cemetery on February 24, 1934. The informant was Mrs.

D. Postier, 2810 Roanoke.

City Hospital Autopsy Report: Autopsy No. 9353, David Postier, age 25

years.

Final diagnosis: Chronic miliary tuberculosis of lungs. Pulmonary

emphysema with bullae formation, acute fibrinous pleurisy, hyperplasia of

spleen, hyperplasia, edema and hyperemia of mediastinal lymph nodes.

Primary tuberculosis complex of right upper lobe.
