Representative from the Third District of Wayne County, 1915-15 and1917-18. Was born at Plymouth, Mich., Jan. 2, 1878, of German parents. Hewas educated in the Plymouth public schools. At sixteen years he enteredhis father's store as aclerk, which occupation he followed until Jan. 9,1899, when he and his brother purchased the stock and formed acopartnership under the name of Gayde Brothers, dealing in groceries,crockery and hardware. He served one term as Clerk of the village ofPlymouth, one term as Trustee of said village, three terms as Clerk ofPlymouth Township, and ten years as a member of the Board of CemeteryTrustee of the village of Plymouth. Fraternally, he was a member ofPlymouth Rock Lodge No. 47, F. & A. M., Union Chapter No. 55, R. A. M.,Northville Commandery No. 39, K. T., Plymouth Chapter No. 115, O. E. S.and Moslem Temple A. A. O. N. M. S. In politics a Republican.
