Muskegon Chronicle - Muskegon, MI (08.12.1989)Reid, Mrs. Mary Ravenna, MI Mrs. Mary Reid, age 95, passed away peacefully Friday evening at Muskegon General Hospital following a short illness. She was born July 20, 1894. Mary Vernice Sievers married William Penn Reid March 16, 1914. She was a life long resident of Ravenna and was active in her community serving for many years on the Bowen School Board. Mrs. Reid was preceded in death by her husband, William (Will) in 1964, 3 brothers, William, Russel and John Sievers, 2 sisters, Mrs. Anna Brendle and infant, Amelia. She will be sadly missed by her 5 children, Mr. Budde Reid and daughter-in-law, Jayne Reid of Muskegon, Mr William Penn (Beverly) Reid, Jr., Mr. Victor (Frieda) Reid, Mr. Wallace F.(Lucille) Reid all of Honor, MI and Mrs. Doris Terrien of Ravenna; 2 sister, Mrs. Hilda Conkright of White Cloud and Mrs. Elizabeth Zimmerman of Muskegon, her sister-in-law, Mrs. Minnie Sievers of Muskegon. She was the beloved grandmother to 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren, a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by all those whose lives she touched. Funeral services will be held at the Throop Funeral Home, Ravenna, Monday afternoon, 2, Rev. Terry Allison officiating. Burial at Ravenna Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2-4 and 7-9pm at the funeral home. Memorial Dr. S.W. Thieme Memorial Fund, Ravenna.
