TOD: Obituary from "Marshfield News Herald"Peter P. MultererRites for Peter P. Multerer, 83, of Marshfield, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church. Mr. Multerer died at 5:35 p.m. Thursday at the Marshfield Convalescent Center, where he had been residing since Aug. 17, 1972.The Rev. George C. Passehl, pastor, will officiate, with burial to follow in Gate of Heaven cemetery.Friends may call after 2 p.m. today (Friday) and until time of services Saturday at the Rembs Chapel, where St. John's parish vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. tonight.Mr. Multerer was born Jan. 18, 1891, in Hewitt, where he was educated, and came to Marshfield to make his home in 1917. He worked for the Soo Line Railroad until entering the employ of the Marshfield Electric and Water Department in the spring of 1926. He had served as power plant foreman for the utility and retired in 1957.His marriage on Oct. 26, 1915, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hewitt was to the former Helen Huth, who preceded him in death on July 12, 1956. The couple had resided at 115 W. Cleveland St., Marshfield. Three months prior to entering the nursing home, Mr. Multerer had made his home with a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Multerer, Marshfield.He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society and the Senior Citizen Club.Survivors include two sons, Vincent and Victor, both of Marshfield; two daughers, Mrs. Charles (Delores) Sturh, Butler, and Mrs. Edward (Catherine) Ketelhut, Saginaw, Mich.; two half-brothers, Tony Schneider, route 5, Marshfield, and Ole Schneider, route 1, Auburndale; 21 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, and a grandson.
