TOD: NEWS ARTICLE from the Marshfield News Herald Nov. 9, 1929 (as quoted in "The Marshfield Story, Volume 2") Frank Joseph Durst Assistant Manager of the Marshfield Cooperative Livestock Shipping Association Frank Joseph Durst, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. X. Durst, was born August 15, 1887, at Hewitt, Wood County, Wisconsin. His parents moved to Loyal when he was a few years old and a few years later moved back to Hewitt. Frank received his education at Hewitt and followed farmwork at home until his marriage, excepting a couple of years, which were spent at the painting trade. Soon after his marriage he and his wife located in this city and lived here four years, during which time he worked for the Marshfield Ice Comany at ice harvesting and delivering, and for the Blodgett Cheese, Butter and Egg Company as a trucker and shipping clerk. In 1919 he traded his residence property in this city for seven acres at Hewitt and moved to that villiage to take charge of his father's farm, which he has been running on a lease since. His land and home place adjoin each other. His shipping association work is handled in connection with the farmwork. The date of his marriage is June 1, 1915. Mrs. Durst formerly was Miss Cathryn Multer, daughter of Mrs. Cathryn Multer, Hewitt. The marriage ceremony was perfomed in the Hewitt Catholic church by Mrs. Durst's brother, Father Wenzel Multer, Halder. Mr. and Mrs. Durst have three children: Peter, Paul and James, 12, 10 and 15, respectively. Fraternally, he is affiliated with the Hewitt St. Joseph's Society, of which he is a former vice president. His other affiliations are with the Hewitt Equity Local. Politically, he is an Independent. His hobbies are hunting and fishing.
