Slagle at Edgewood, Lower Yoder Township. The followingwere present : Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Slagle, of Edgewood; Mr. and Mrs. NoahSlagle, of Uniontown; Mr. and Mrs. Willian Rodgers, of Hooversville; Mrs.Carrie Lohr and grandsons Earl and Junior, of Pittsburgh; Mr. and Mrs. A.A. Slagle, of Stoyestown; Harry Slagle, Hooversville and Mr. and Mrs.Herbert John Slagle, of Edgewood. Other members of the clan who wereunable to attend were Mr. and Mrs. William Slagle and family, of New YorkCity; Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Crissey and family, of Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs.Wesley Slagle and family, of Kentucky; and Mr. and Mrs. Ephrain Slagleand family, of Johnstown. Two marriages, two deaths and one birth were recorded among members ofthe clan since the last reunion. A. A. Slagle. President of the clan, presided at the business meeting.Mrs H. J. Slagle, Secretary, read the minutes and William Rodgers,Treasurer, presented a report. The old officers were re-elected for thecoming year. The reunion next will be held at the residence of WilliamSlagle, in New York City. A committee consisting of A. A. Slagle, Mrs.William Rodgers and H. J. Slagle was named to look after transportationarrangements for the trip. D. H. Slagle and wife presented a brief history of the clan, and areading, "Papa's Letter" was given by Mrs. A. A. Slagle. All present had a enjoyable time. despite the fact that rain interferedwith part of the outdoors program. ******************************************************************************* Johnstown Tribune-Democrat NPO 24 Mar 1951 reads : Slagle, David H., 91, 1214 Bedford Street, died at 8:45 p.m. Mar. 23,1951. Born Mar. 1, 1860, in Somerset County, son of Christian and Martha(Howard) Slagle. Survived by these children; Edith, wife of EllsworthClaridge, 610 Horner Street; Frank, Beaver; Susan, wife of Carl Cooper,1214 Bedford Street; Elizabeth, wife of Samuel Glass, 1010 GoucherStreet and John, Edgewood; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and5 great great grandchildren. Following brothers and sisters; Ephraim,Somerset; William, New York City; Mrs. Carrie Lohr, 321 StonycreekStreet and Mrs. Annie Rogers Hooversville. Member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. Pensioner of Johnstown Plant,Bethlehem Steel Company, since July 1940. Preceded in death by Wife Mary(Lininger) Slagle, and two sons Porter and Charles. Friends received after 7 p.m. Saturday at A.A. Wagner Funeral Home, whereservices will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Rev. Norman E. Koehler Jr.,Intrement, Grandview Cemetery.
