BIOGRAPHY: Taken from "Our Family" compiled in 1981 by Carroll BAIRD (neeRUMPEL) William (Bill) Rumpel was born August 7, 1884 in Bukovina, Austria. He came to Canada with his parents in 1891 and

the family took up a homestead in the Balgonie District. In 1905, he married Amelia Senger and for a few years Bill and Amelia farmed in the Earl Grey - Southey Area. They then moved to a farm north o

f Balgonie, NW & NE 1/4's of Section 15, Township 18, Range 17, W 2nd of the second Meridian. They homesteaded here until Bill's death in May 1981. Bill and Amelia raised a family of six children; fiv

e boys and one girl. Their youngest son, Otto, still resides on the homestead that Bill and Amelia had.
