Notes for this person
Baptized Catholic, he must have converted to Lutheranism early, and he then converted back to Catholicism the day before he married in Honau. At the time, both he and his wife had no fixed address. He was a basket weaver bytraining and came from Reiffelbach, near Meisenheim. He became a shopkeeper in Offenbach bei Landau. He was unable to write. He died suddenly in the house of Jakob Hertel, farmer in Mutterstadt.
His age at death, given as 67 years, indicates a birth year of about 1750. His age at marriage in 1783, given as 25 years, indicates a birth year of about 1758.
