Thomas Langdon was at Hempstead, Long Island in 1657 when he boughtland there from Alexander Bryan. In 1660 he sold this same land to toRobert Williams. He was evidently a skilled hunter, as he was several times paid by the town for having killed wolves. Two entries in Hempstead town records bracket his death: "These presents witnesseth that I Thomas Jeycocks have sould unto Thomas Langdon of Hempstead a Certaine parcell of woodland which was given mee by the Town, Containing Ten Acres more or less, lying in the North-west woods at a place called little suckcesse, And I doacknowledge yt [that] I have received of him full payment and satisfaction for the same. Mr. Robert Ashman is Impowered from Thomas Jeycocks in hisbehalf to subscribe hereunto this 7th day of December 1663." "June the 7' 1666 Sooeld [sold] and dilevered for the yues [use] of Edward wooster of stratford in New ingLand which wase adet [a debt]from Thomas Langdun Late dessesed one mare and Cooelt Cullared whit branded thi :M: one the NER buttack and the :G: one the of buttack with a 1/2 peni under y'e new aer age 11 yaers"
