"Jay"

Age 84. Passed away Sunday, January 8, 2006 with his family by his side. Attended Offerman Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School. John lived and farmed on the family farm south of Joliet on Laraway Road his entire life.

Preceded in death by his parents,Fredrick and Celia (nee Freis) Wilhelmi; one son, Ronald J. (1975); one brother, Donald Wilhelmi; and one sister, Annette Wilhelmi.

John is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Julia A. (nee Buldak) Wilhelmi; sons, Dennis J. (Loralyn, nee Lestina) Wilhelmi and Gary J. (Jean, nee Kennedy) Wilhelmi; daughters, Jayne (David) Vanderhyden and Patricia (Timothy) Briscoe; his beloved grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Christopher and Adam Wilhelmi; Justin and Ashley Vanderhyden; and Emilie and Jack Briscoe; one brother, Fred (Naomi) Wilhelmi; three sisters, Rita Gould, Norma (John) Rourke and Carol (Bill) Holsinger; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

John's love was farming, restoring antique farm tractors and collecting farm toys. Every July, he and his grandchildren participated in driving his antique tractors in the Annual Will County Threshermans Parade. He was often seen driving his 1928 Ford Model A in area parades and around the countryside to check his crops.

John was an usher at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at the 4:15 Mass every Saturday. Life member of the Knights of Columbus #4400, member of the Will County Farm Bureau, Will County Threshermans Association, Joliet Antique Auto Club, and the Illinois Corn and Soybean Association; and he volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels for 15 years.

A special thanks to Joliet Area Community Hospice and Urszula Madetko, his caregiver, the last two months of his life.

Funeral services for John J. Wilhelmi will be Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 9:15 AM from the funeral home to Sacred Heart Catholic Church fora Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials in his name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday 3-8 PM at:

Die Nachfahren des Ehepaares Adam Emmerich - Katharine Ketger versuche ich vollständig zu erfassen. Für Ergänzungen bin ich sehr dankbar!
