Eustace`s parents homesteaded July 20, 1911 in Stanley County, SD Eustace Book was elected to the office of the Treasurer of Stanley County, South Dakota November 07, 1950, for a term of 2 years, beginning January 1, 1951. Certificate of Nomination dated June 1, 1954 Fort Pierre, Stanley County, South Dakota for office of the auditor for the Republican Party. Eustace R. Book was elected to the office of the Auditor on November 5, 1954 for Stanley County, South Dakota. Eustace was injured while oiling a pump jack. He crossed over a v-belt and got his clothing caught in the belt. It injured his leg, and he spent a year out of school because of infections etc. Eustace wentto a school for mechanics and operated his own garage until it burned down.Eustace and Erma always raised a large garden. From their house to the MissouriRiver was all garden. They would sell the produce to grocery stores and people in Pierre and Fort Pierre. One time while Erma was in the corn patch, she passed out from heat stroke. Eustace and Erma owned house in Ft. Pierre they called the tall house. They would rent it out as extra income. Eustace and Ermaran an abstract office in Ft. Pierre until Eustace passed away. Graduated from Fort Pierre High School in 1927. buried in Pierre Cemetery 3rd turn toleft, Add B, Blk 7.
