James Daniel Piggott, 75, Iberia, died Oct. 18, 2002, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He was born June 21, 1927, in McKenzie, Ala., a son of Emoryand Didia Mae Booker Piggott. He was married May 23, 1948, in Waynesville, to Ruby Hensley, who survives at the home.
He was a Navy veteran of World WarII and the Korean conflict. He retired from the Navy after 20 years. HE worked as a cook at several restaurants in the Lake area.
He was a member of theCrocker Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4956, the Iberia American Legion Post 105,and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the Iberia Masonic LodgeNo. 410 AF and AM, the Military Order of the Cooties, the Abou Ben Adem Templein Springfield, and the Iberia Lions Club.
Other survivors include: threesons, Tommy and Jimmy Piggott, both of Iberia, and Daniel Piggott, Brumley; twodaughters, Linda Sue Shreve and Mary Jo Cochran, both of Iberia; three sisters,13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m.Monday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Dennis Nichols will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia. Visitation willbe from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
