Dolores Opal Swift, 95, passed away peacefully withher family at her side at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse, Wis.
Dolores was born Oct. 21, 1909, in Winona to William and Estella Schultz. Dolores was a graduate of Winona High School and the Winona Business College, after which she was employed at Winona's McConnon and Co.
In 1933, Dolores married Henry Spencer Swift, now deceased, in Winona, where they lived until 1949,when they moved to Freeport, Ill. Dolores is survived by her three children, William Swift (Helena) of Albuquerque, N.M., Richard Swift (Frances) of La Crosseand Susan Maves (Grant) of La Crosse; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Dolores was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member ofEmbury Methodist Church, an original member of two YWCA endeavors, "Black and White Dialogue Group" and "Sunday Sociables." Dolores enjoyed bowling in the YMCAcouples league, where she served as a secretary and treasurer for 22 years. Shealso enjoyed piano, walking, golfing and traveling. Dolores especially loved a good game of "500" and was a champion Scrabble player.
Dolores will be lovingly remembered for her wisdom, her sense of humor and positive spirit by all who knew and loved her.
