Herschel Stanley ROBERTS

Herschel S. Roberts, 84, of 3106 E. Bristol St., formerly of 133 Graywood Ave., Elkhart, (Ind.) died at 7:25 p.m. Saturday (March 20, 1999) in the emergency room at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1914, near Nappanee (Ind.) to Ira and Carrie (Buss) Roberts. He married Billie M. Mitchel on June 30, 1938, in Elkhart. She died Nov. 30, 1995. Survivors include two sons, Thomas E. of Bristol and William M. of Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren. Friends may call 6 to 8 tonight at Wally-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, where the service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Richard A. Kallenberg of St. John's Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery. Mr Roberts retired in 1978 from the South Bend Drug Co., where he was employed as a sales representative for more than 40 years. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Kane Lodge No. 183 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite of South Bend and Mizpah Shrine of Fort Wayne. Memorials may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
