Stein, Advokat in Eisnenach, Syndikus in Ostheim, Justizbeamter des Grafen von Sonden in Neustädles. 1801-1809 Vorlesungen in Jena, Vom Herzg vonSachsen Weimar zum Hofrat ernannt. Ab 1816 Prof. an der Universität Heidelberg, schrieb diverse Bücher über das Gerichtsverfahren, Zivilprozeß und Römisches Recht. <p>Aus Biefen von Goethe: ...kleinen D. Gensler vorschlagen, welcher Ermunterung bedarf und ein fleißiger Scabiner ist. Er ist aus Ostheim und ein Protege von Thon. Ferner von dem Protonot[ariat] Kaiser, des Herrn von Ziegesar rechte Hand, wenn er in Jena ist....
