Notizen zu dieser Person
From "Descendants of Joseph Pobst", compiled by Mary Rose Pobst, page 7. Joseph Bapst/Pobst and Mary Magdalena Pfefferkorn landed in the U.S. at the Baltimore Port on 3-31-1832. They made their wayto Stark County, Ohio. Some of the Bapst family or friends could have been living there. Magdalena was the first Pfefferkorn to come to the U.S. Before they left Schirrhein they became parents of six children. Nine more were born in the U.S. Three sons that are not accounted for wee born before 1840. It has been handed down that Joe died in Kentucky. The last child, William could have been born in Kentucky or Ohio. Magdalena came to New Hamburg, where her two younger brothers lived in 1853. The family name was still BAPST in the 1840 census of Stark Co., Ohio. It could have been changed any time from 1840 to 1853, when Wittfrau (widow) Pobst came ot New Hamburg, MO.
