Betty.FTW] Early records are scarce on the Schneider family in and around Kaiserslautern. Also, Henry was a common name so it has been difficult to be certain one is referring to the right person. Tuesday (?) the 25 September 1655 Hans Henrich Schneider of Arnbach (Oberarnbach), Sickengen Lordship, the legitimate son of Hans Schneider, inhabitant of Kaiserslautern, by profession a locksmith, became a citizen and took the oath to the city of Kaiserslautern (*1). On Monday, Hans Schneider of Oberarnbach in the area of Landsthul, became a citizen and took the oath to the city of Kaiserslautern (*1). From what little information is available, I (Clifford Canfield) will aattempt to give some data on the Schneider family that may be correct or partly correct. Hans Schneider may have been born or lived in Oberarnbach. However, in 1655, he was living in Kaiserlautern, a city nearby. No dates have been found pertaining to him. His child: 1. Henry Schneider Henry Schneider (born in Oberarnbach ? ) married and lived in Kaiserrslautern where he was a locksmith. No dates pertaining to him have been found. His children: 1. Anna Rosina Schneider 2. Ottilia Schneider - Sponsor 1688 - said to be daughter of Henry Schneider) 3.
