PAUL W. HEPPEL , 81, of 1834 Locust Apt. B., Sterling, died early Monday morning in Rock Falls Colonial Acres. Memorial services will be conducted by the Sterling Moose Lodge 726 Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Allen Funeral Home in Sterling. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home in Sterling. A memorial has been established in his memory. Mr. Heppel was born on Jan. 26, 1905 in Ginnheim, Germany, the son of Wilheim and Katharine Heeb Heppel. He came to the United States in 1923. On May 26, 1926 he was united in marriage to Erma Louise Bauer in Sterling. The deceased was a self employed plumber, starting his own business in 1930, and retiring in 1970. He was a member of the Sterling Moose Lodge 726 for 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Erma of Rock Falls, one son, Harry Heppel of Sterling; and two grandchildren, Michael Heppel of Sterling, and Cheryl Heppel of Rockford.
