  Ernest J. Strandlund December, 1, 2006 | MOLINE--Ernest J. “Jack” Strandlund, of Moline, died Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at Trinity Medical Center, West, Rock Island. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 4, 2006, at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, and 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a combined public and Catholic Order of Forester rosary recited at 2 p.m. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Jack was born April 11, 1925, in Moline, the son of Ernest Okie and Adeline Schmiers Strandlund. He married Catherine “Kay” M. Fennelly on October 26, 1946, in Davenport. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in October. Mr. Strandlund served in the Navy in the Submarine Division 182 during World War II. He owned and operated Jack's Appliance Stores in Rock Island and Davenport. Jack was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline where he served as an acolyte, CatholicOrder of Forester Sacred Heart Court 1691, Svithiod Club, Moline, Moline American Legion Post 246 and 40 and 8 Club. He was a life member of VFW Post 2153, Moline. Survivors include his wife, Kay; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Dr. Rob Ohlsen, of Geneseo; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Ernest “Jack” and Debby Strandlund, of Phoenix, Ariz., James Strandlund, of Moline, Joe and Sherry Strandlund, of Milan, and Jerry and Theresa Strandlund, of Sherrard; grandchildren, Jenny and Mike Traphagan, of Moline, Jason and Amanda Ohlsen, of St. Louis, Mo., Ciara and Shaun Hull, of Tucson, Ariz., and Laurie and Warren Seynk, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and eight great-grandchildren. Title Die Familien Schmiers und ihre Verwandten
Description

um 2009 veröffentlichte ich die erste Version meines Vorfahrenbaumes in GEDBAS. Heute 2014 kann man diese als überholt bezeichen und ersetzen durch die neue Version von 2014.

Diese Datenbank enthällt möglichst alle Vorkommen von Schmiers weltweit in zwei großen Familiensträngen, die beide aus Westfalen stammen. Zusätzlich, wenn alles klappte, auch einige Streufunde, die noch nicht zugeordnet werden konnten. Mein Zweig stammt aus dem Kreis Steinfurt, ist in Westfalen ausgestorben und lebt als "sächsischer Zweig" weiter. Der andere große Strang stammt aus der Umgebung Cappenberg und hat zahlreiche Nachkommen in USA und Deutschland. In den vergangenen Jahren ist meine Forschung deutlich vorangeschritten.

Beim Export hakte ich an "lebende Personen ausschließen". Hoffentlich vergaß ich bei keiner Person mit unbekanntem Todesdatum das Häkchen bei 'verstorben' zu setzen...

Ich würde mich über Fragen zu diesen Familienbäumen freuen.
