Jorund plünderte nach seiner Machtübernahme (wahrscheinlich im 5. Jahrhundert) in den Nachbarländern. Als er sich in Dänemark in einer Buchtdes Limfjord befand, wurde er vom norwegischen König Gylaug aufgespürt, dessen Vater er zusammen mit Erik ermordet hatte. Die Dänen halfenden Norwegern, was zu Jorunds Festnahme und Hinrichtung am Galgen führte.
