Obituary
Gerd P. Pageler of Wamego, Kansas, departed this life on June 21, 1956 at the home of his son, Rollo M. Pageler, Wamego, KS, at the age of 79 years, 2 months, 2 days. Mr. Pageler had been ill since October 1955.
Mr. Pageler was born in Marx, Hanover, Germany, on April 19, 1877. At the age of nine, he came to the United States with his parents, Gerdt Janssen Pageler and Margaret Dewald Pageler. They made their home near Belvue Kansas. On March 30, 1890, he received by confirmation into the membership of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church of Wells Creek, by the Rev. P. Brueckner.
On December 17, 1908, he was united in marriage to Minnie Hupe by the Rev. Conrad Gastroct. To this union three children were born, Gertrude, who died in infancy, two sons, Roy of Belvue, KS and Rollo of Wamego, KS.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie, his sons, Roy and Rollo, and two grandchildren, Barbara Ann and Dennis Roy Pageler. Two brothers, Ben Pageler, Belvue, KS and Herman Pageler, Wamego, KS. In addition there are many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church of Wells Creek, on June 24, 1956 at 2:30 pm and were conducted by the Rev. A Vernon Kurz. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pal bearers were nephews of Mr. Pageler. They were: R. G. Pageler, Carl O Pageler, C. W. McDaniel, Alve Pageler, Emil Pageler and Floyd McDaniel.
