EARNEST HOLZ

Ernest John August Holz, youngest son of Ernest and Fredericka Holz, was born September 12, 1885, in Wabaunsee county near Paxico, Kansas and passed away at the Dechairo hospital in Westmoreland, Kansas, on April 6, 1951, at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 25 days as the result of a heart attack. His entire life was spent in Wabaunsee and Pottawatomie, counties.
On March 21, 1911, he was united in marriage to Mary Neidfeldt by Rev. Thomas Peterson at the Lutheran Church at Wells Creek. To this union was born three children, Elmer, Eleanor, and Harold. His wife preceded him in death August 9, 1947. Two brothers, Fred and William Holz, an d two sisters, Gusta Martens and Lizzie Haase, also preceded him in death.
He was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church of Wells Creek. At the time of this marriage he became a member of the Lutheran Church of Wells Creek and remained of that faith.
He leaves to mourn his passing his children, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer E. Holz, of Belvue, Kan; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Estes, of Westmoreland, Kan.; and Harold L. Holz of Wamego; five grandchildren, Lola Marie, Robert Lloyd, Mary Ellen, Dennis Ray and Kenneth Dale Estes, all of Westmoreland, Kansas. Also one brother, Henry Holz, of Belvue and three sisters, Mrs. Martha Buchmeier, of Paxico; Mrs. Sophia Hasenbank, of Manhattan; and Mrs. Emma Breitschwerdt, of Wamego. Also many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday at 1:00 pm at the Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego in charge of the Rev. J.W.A. Becker of the Lutheran church. Burial was in the Wamego City Cemetery.
