Volkening and Mary Kolling Volkening, was born May 28, 1892, in Kaw township, Wabaunsee county, Kansas where she spent most of her life. she was called from this life suddenly on July 5, 1962, at the age of 70 years, one month, seven days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Immanuel Evangelical Un ited church of Christ at Wells Creek, Belvue, Kansas by Rev. John Abele. She was united in marriage to Deitrick O. Pageler on February 24, 1926 by Rev Fred W Weltze and lived in Wells Creek till the fall of 1960 when they moved to their home in St. Marys. She was a kind and loving wife and friend to all who knew her. Her mother and father preceded her in death her mother, June 1949 and father in January 1955. Those of the immediate family are her husband, Dietrick O Pageler, one brother Herman Volkening of Wamego, two sisters, Mrs. Herman Piel, Belvue, and Mrs. Walter H. Holz st Marys; a niece Mrs. Don Drayer, her brothers in law and sisters in law, one uncle , A. W. Eisenmenger, besides other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The funeral services were Sunday, July 8, 1962, at the Immanuel church at Wells Creek and burial in the church cemetery by Rev. Irvin Stegner.
