<p>After a long illness, Samuel Eymann died at Omaha Saturday, September 1, 1917, heart trouble being the cause of death. The deceased was born in Switzerland, October 2, 1844. He continued to residein his native country until well toward sixty years of age when he came to America, arriving at Oakdale during the year 1902. With the exception of brief intervals with his children at other points, Oakdale was his home to the day of his death. He was married in 1869, his good wife departing this life November 30, 1909. To Mr. and Mrs. Eymann were born fifteen children, ten boys and five girls, twelve whom survive. They are Annie Bittler, Samuel, Gotfried and Emil, living in Switzerland, Robert of Calhoun, NE, Ernest of Omaha, Alfred of TableRock, Chris of Elgin, Hans and William of Oakdale, Mrs. Bertha Stern of Omaha, Martha Eissler of Oakdale. He is survived also by twenty-seven grandchildren. Mr. Eymann was one of nature's nobleman. He gave full allegiance to the country of his adoptionand was an honorable citizen. The remains were brought to Oakdale Sunday and funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the United Brethren Church, conducted by the pastor of the Tilden German Evangelical Church. Burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. The services were largely attended.
