<p>In 1775-76 Jacob Eyeman joined Capt. James Murray�s Co. of Paxtang militia.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In 1777 and 1779 (as a freeman) Jacob is listed in Upper Paxtang, Lancaster, PA tax lists.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In 1778 Jacob Eyeman signed an Oath of Allegiance in Lancaster Co. in November. He is also shown that year as Jacob Eyman on the Military card file.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Henry Peden, in "Revolutionary Patriots of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania 1775-1783" suggests that Jacob Eyman was present at the battles of Princeton and Trenton. He also suggests that Jacob was with Captain Murray's Company when he lost his pouch and horn at the reduction of Fort Washington on November 16, 1776.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>William Engle, in "History of Dauphin and Lebanon Counties" suggests: "This company first went into service in November or December of 1775, and was present at the battles of Trenton and Princeton. The members of the company nearly all resided in what was then Upper Paxtang township, orin the section of country from the present town of Dauphin extending to Halifax. Beyond and around the latter locality was Captain Read's company."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>A return of Captain James Murray's company of Associators of the Fourth Battalion of Lancaster County, commanded by James Burd, March 13, 1776:</p><p>Eyeman, Christopher, Eyeman, Jacob, and Eyeman, Jacob (obviously, Sr. and Jr.)</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In 1780 Jacob Eayman was listed as a freeman on the Colerain Twp., Lancaster Co., PA tax list.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In 1784 Jacob was listed on the 4th Battalion Capt. Murray�s companyFines List. Remarks: 1777-80, dated Aug 11, 1784 fines.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Jacob Egmann of Upper Paxtang, PA married Barbara Jones of Donegal on Dec 11, 1787.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Jacob purchased "MayApple Bottom," the land up Clark's Creek in Paxtang, Lancaster (now Dauphin), PA.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In 1794 Jacob Eyman appeared on Hardy Co., WV Tax Rolls for the first time. He was listed each yearthereafter through 1800.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In 1794 Jacob was assigned the lands of a Stephen Hodge in Hardy Co., WV. In 1791 and 1798 he bought 200+ more acres in Hardy Co. from John Spillman.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In 1795 Jacob Eyman bought lot #52 in Fredericks Town of Dauphin Co., PA from Peter Bettlion. This lot contained two residences. It was sold two years later while the Eymans were in Hardy Co., WV. This land included two residences on 2nd or 3rd street in what was then Frederick�s Town (this subsequently became Hummelstown). The deed was found in Dauphin Co., PA, but involved paperwork from the Hardy County, WV court of Aug 26, 1797.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Jacob purchased some of his land and acquired some of his lands in an out-of-court means somehow from a Methodist preacher bythe name of Badgley -- whose son was later to head the first Baptist congregation in the Mid-West.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Jacob moved from Lancaster Co., PA to Hardy Co., (West) VA in the mid-1790s. On 16April 1807 a deed was signed by Barnard Ruppert of Hempfield Twp., yeoman, and Franey (x) his wife, selling to Jacob Eiman, yeoman, land including a 96 acre plantation in Hempfield Twp., WV bounded by Wm. Vandyke, Simon Drum, and James Wilson. Jacob signed papers releasing his 131 acres of land on June 14th, 1809 in Hardy Co., WV and moved his family to Washington Township, Westmoreland Co., PA.Jacob, Barbara, and their family migrated to Westmoreland Co. somewhere around 1809 where they had purchased an estate, apparently with cash, several years before releasing their lands in (West) Virginia.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In 1803 Jacob Eiman received a Tavern Permit granted by the Westmoreland Co., PA court (Tavern License Recommendations Westmoreland County, June Term 1803, Old Westmoreland, Vol 10, Number 2). In 1807 Jacob acquired land in Westmoreland County, PA.</p><p>In 1809 Jacob sold his land in Hardy Co., WV and moved to Westmoreland Co., PA.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>1810 Washington Twp.,Westmoreland, PA census, p. 212: Jacob Iman with 1 under 10 male, 1 10/16 male, 2 16/25 males, 1 45+ male, 3 under 10 females, 1 10/16 female, 1 16/26 female, and 1 26/45 female</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In1810 Jacob Eimon/Eiman affirmed the will of Peter Clase/Clason/Clason of Westmoreland Co., PA.</p><p>(note: Washington Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA abuts to Allegheny Twp. (now Kiskiminetas Twp., nearLeechburg), Armstrong Co., PA)</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Jacob and family might be listed in "Early records of the Reformed and Lutheran congregations of Westmoreland and Armstrong counties, Pennsylvania...," a micro reproduction of original records at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Reverend William Weinel and Reverend Jacob Zimmerman, 1782-1859, available throughthe LDS Library in Salt Lake City, UT, or the First Evangelical Lutheran Church "History Of Our Church" Commemorating One Hundred Seventy Five Years Of Lutheranism In The Leechburg Community 1814-1989.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>On July 1, 1820, Jacob purchased 80 acres of land for $800.00 in Delaware (now Marion) Co., OH.
