The youngest of the three Ratchford brothers left Main a Dieu andsettled inCumberland Co., Nova Scotia. There are many descendents of that family in Canada and in different parts of the United States. Due to mixed marriages inthe beginning, the Cumberland County Ratchfords are and have been Anglicans for generations. At one time, one of that family, the late Honourable James Ratchford was Attorney General forNova Scotia. The late Charles E. Ratchford, barrister, of Amherst, Nova Scotia who died in 1919, was a descendant of that branch of thefamily. One of his daughters married a son of the late Archbishop Worrell of Halifax, Nova Scotia in the year 1912. "History of DonaldMcGillivray and His Descendants", 1985, F.X. McGillivray, pg. 15-16
