The little sister, Mary Ann, grew up in Main a Dieu and lived thereall her life. A legend of her teaching catechism to the Indians in theearly days ofMain a Dieu was written up in the Sydney newspapers about 1900 but the article was not preserved. Mary Ann was married twice andmany of her descendantsstill live in the Louisburg and Main a Dieu areas of Cape Breton. The late County Warden Levatte of Louisburg, althoughnot a Catholic, was one of her descendants. "History of Donald McGillivray and His Descendants", 1985, F.X. McGillivray, pg. 16.
