He was born in the village Stehlen in the Sulingen parish in Lower Saxony in Germany on the 29th of June 1760. His mother was the then single Anna Margarethe Nordloh. His father was the then single Johann Ludwig Lohfeld. (F1)
In 1910 Stehlen had 126 inhabitants. Then it belonged to village Lindern. (A1)
Childhood:
His father married his mother three months after his birth. Johann Ludwig Lohfeld jun. grew up in Stehlen. His father was a cottager. (F1)
Work:
He was a shoemaker and cottager (German: Heuerling). (F1)
First Marriage:
He married the single Anna Adelheid Freyen, who was from the village Lindern, which is also in the Sulingen parish, on the 19th of November 1784 in the Lutheran church in Sulingen. (F1)
They lived in Stehlen for one or two years. Then they moved to Lindern and raised their family there. (F1)
His wife died in 1801 aged only 38 years. He was left behind with small children.
Second Marriage:
He married the widow of Cord Hinrich Grave, Ilse Margarethe nee Freyen, on the 4th of January 1802 in the Lutheran church in Sulingen. She was the elder sister of Johann Ludwig Lohfeld's first wife. (F1)
Death:
He died on the 30th of June 1826 in the village Coldewey, which is also in the Sulingen parish. He was a 66 years old widower. He was buried in the cemetery in Sulingen three days later. (F1)

2. He is not included in the 1823 "Brandkataster" list in the civic archive in Hannover.
